Tri-Turf is a locally owned independent business that was started in 1981 in Traverse City, Michigan by Tom Reed, Sr.
to service the turf industry in Northern and Upper Michigan. Tom Reed, Sr. assembled such manufactures as Mallinckrodt Chemical, Standard and Par Aide golf supplies and Par Ex fertilizers, purchased a van type truck and began calling on customers with all the products available in the truck when visiting the customer site.

Over the years Tri-Turf has expanded its customer base which now includes the whole state of Michigan. There are warehouses and personnel in Farmington Hills near Detroit, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids and Traverse City. There is also
a "Warehouse on Wheels" driven by Eric Denoyer in the northern portion of the state. The main office is located in Traverse City where all the main functions of the business
are performed.
